_ALF Training for Limited Mental Health Licensure Courses
Aging & Adult Providers Online Training is your exclusive source for web-based Limited Mental Health Licensure Training. This course is provided under the sponsorship of the Department of Children and Families Mental Health and Substance Abuse Unit. It is open to all who are interested in learning more about mental health, diagnosis and behavior.
It is a required course for administrators, managers, and staff of ALF facilities with the LMH specialty license. The course may be taken for 8 credit hours. Approval is through DOEA, and a standard certificate is issued at the end of the course at no additional cost.
Coursework is fully online. It includes PowerPoints with graphics and voice overlay as well as videos. Topics discussed range from symptoms and descriptions of major mental disorders, to various treatment modalities, legal and ethical issues, behavior management, crisis intervention and trauma. A passing score of 80% or higher on the exam is required for either certificate option.
