Aging & Adult Providers Online Training is your exclusive source for web-based Baker Act Training. This course is provided under the sponsorship of the Department of Children and Families Mental Health and Substance Abuse Unit. It is open to all who are interested in learning more about the Statute and Florida Administrative Code governing the Baker Act.
This course is recommended for all professionals dealing with clients experiencing Mental Illness and possibly needing Baker Act Services. Administrators, managers, and staff of ALF facilities with the LMH specialty license are eligible to enroll. * There is no charge for the standard Certificate of Completion. A passing score of 80% or higher on the course Exam is required for either certificate option. Coursework is fully online, formatted with PowerPoints, graphics and voice overlay plus videos. Topics include an overview of the history of the Baker Act and its legislative intent; Express & Informed Consent; Criteria and Appropriate use of Voluntary Admissions and Involuntary Admissions
