Adult Family Care Home Courses
This online AFCH Training course is approved by AHCA. It is designed to prepare potential providers for successfully meeting regulatory standards for operating an Adult Family Care Home.
Completion of the required 12 hours of course work earns you a "Certificate of Achievement" recognized by the Agency on Health Care Administration (AHCA) as satisfying these standards (58A-14.008 FAC).
The course consists of four modules. Each module has full color presentations with instructor audio narratives and interactive learning throughout. Video clips further enhance the training. Content includes review of relevant Florida law and rules, space requirements, staff training, physical and mental health needs of residents. Facility forms and resources are included in the course.
Should you have questions during the class, you can either post them on the 'Q&A' Discussion Board or send an email to the instructor directly.
Note: The AFCH certification requires the provider/caregiver live with the residents in the primary residence of the provider. License capacity of the home is a maximum of 5 residents. If the residents will be living in another home while you provide care, select the Assisted Living Facility Core Training instead.
